Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon first graced our screens in June 2011 with its debut of Arnav Singh Raizada and Khushi Kumari Gupta, two iconic on-screen jodis that would gain huge acclaim and gain our hearts as fans.

Although many Indian television shows feature similar stories, what sets Iss PPKKND apart is Sanaya Irani’s fresh perspective and her charismatic acting performance which wowed audiences and viewers.

Story

Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon was an overwhelming hit at its time. The show became a household name and popularly established Arnav Singh Raizada (Barun Sobti) and Khushi Kumari Gupta (Sanaya Irani) as beloved characters.

Ipsita Ki Kabhi Bahu Nahi Kahi

was the story of two star-crossed lovers from Delhi who went from being bitter foes to falling in love, drawing inspiration from Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice and designed for desi audiences. This show showcased mature love against all odds; depicted wholesome romantic relationships as they faced hardship; dealt with topics such as divorce, infertility, remarriage while providing a welcome alternative from all the saas-bahu shows currently found on Hindi Television at that time.

Cast

Launched on 6 June 2011, the show quickly become a sensation among Indian audiences, thanks to lead pair Barun Sobti and Sanaya Irani’s captivating chemistry on screen. Not only was it immensely successful; but its global popularity inspired multiple multilingual dubs and adaptations as well.

Shlok Agnihotri (Avinash Sachdev) and Aastha Kirloskar (Shrenu Parikh). Aastha Kirloskar is an open, engaging, passionate, friendly individual who places value on relationships and believes strongly in equality; she’s close with Arnav, making a perfect contrast with Shlok, who is cold-hearted businessman who hates love.

Two people meet and fall in love. In order to formalize their romance, they have to complete a series of challenges that test their bond. As the story develops, we witness their struggle between differing beliefs resulting in constant love-hate relationships that cause them to go back and forth between one another.

Premiering on Star Plus at 8pm weekday time slot on 6 June 2011, it quickly became an instant blockbuster hit and inspired many multilingual dubs and adaptations worldwide. Starring Barun Sobti as Arnav Singh Raizada and Sanaya Irani as Khushi Kumari Gupta respectively; its story revolves around their love-hate relationship; Aastha believes passionately in equality while Shlok is self-serving businessman who prioritises wealth over relationships – both characters shared their passion.

Release Date

Ipkknd was an Indian soap opera which ran on Star Plus from 6 June 2011 until 30 November 2012, airing Monday-Friday between 6 and 30 November of that year and centering around Arnav (Barun Sobti) and Khushi (Sanaya Irani). Remade twice since its initial run and with an official sequel known as IpKKND 2, this series was extremely successful and remains widely watched today.

Barun Sobti shot to stardom with his role as ASR on Iss Pyar Ko Kya Naam Doon and Sanaya Irani saw an enormous jump in her career due to their shared charisma onscreen – beloved by audiences worldwide and considered one of the greatest television jodis ever!

Fans have still been hoping for their beloved Jodi to return since the show went off air six years ago, even though their actors have moved forward with their careers and new projects. Fans’ desires to reunite them remain high.
